What is counseling?
Counseling is a helping process, whereby highly skilled therapists form a therapeutic rapport to help individuals and families progress through difficult issues in order to reach their identified goals.

How much is it going to cost?
ASY Counseling Services accept most insurances, including Medicaid. We also offer very competitive and flexible rates for self-pay clients based on a sliding scale to ensure that our services are affordable to everyone.

Will other people know that I am in counseling?
ASY Counseling Services upholds client counselor confidentiality to the fullest extent, excluding the following circumstances:
• Impending harm to self or others
• Abuse in any manner to a child or adolescent
• Privileged Consent to a third party on behalf of the client

How do I begin the process?
To initiate the counseling process, you must contact ASY Counseling Services by phone, fax, or email with information regarding the person or family being referred. Our counselors will schedule an appointment for intake and assessment. Once these steps are concluded, the client will be engaged in regularly scheduled sessions.

How do I know if I need counseling?
Chances are if you have asked yourself this question, you could likely benefit from speaking with a counselor. If you or your child have the following symptoms you should also contact a counselor at ASY Counseling Services.
• Depression
• ADHD/ADD
• Opposition towards authority
• Parenting issues
• Mediation (Child Custody, Adoption issues)
• Poor School Behavior
• Sudden change in mood or behavior

What is a counselor?
The term counselor is meant to describe someone who holds their master's degree in counseling. Counselors can be found in a variety of settings including college counseling centers, private counselors, rehabilitation counselors, and counselors in private practice. Training is typically broad and counselors can find themselves doing career counseling, family counseling, school counseling, mental health counseling, community counseling, marriage counseling and consulting.
